Switching from Trileptal to Keppra

Hello Everyone,
My 9yo daughter just started Keppra today after being on trileptal for a little over a year. She has been having breakthru seizures since Nov. Her neuro increased the trileptal twice but all it did was cause behavior problems and difficulty in school. A month ago he tried adding lamictal and she got "the rash". Now hoping keppra can control the seizures but reduce the aggressive and nasty behavior the trileptal seems to be causing. I've read alot about keppra causing mood swings so I'm a bit concerned. Anyone else switch to keppra because another med was causing aggressiveness and it helped? Thanks

Not sure about Keppra..but we have been on trileptal 300mg at night since feb. and have been good seizure wize so far. We do have mood swings severely in the a.m and more exhuastion in the evening. Sometimes i wonder if epilepsy in general tends to lead to mood swings at times. That is what i read. Especially if it is not a particular good day. hope it works for u. hang in there. you sound like you are doing a great job.
